Good News

I had my PT test this morning. By the Grace of God, I passed, so that means I'm not, according to the military, fat or lazy. I have one year to stay in shape before my next "official" test, but my command wants to start testing every three months, so I get to do this training all over again in March.

Yesterday, I got to go to a Star Wars "Art and Science" show...well, I got to go to the construction of it. Our news department was going on a shoot to the site, and they wanted a "fan" to go along. So, they pulled me from radio to go along. I can't say it was a bad experience. I got to talk to a guy who helped design several sets for some of the movies, and he even played parts on screen (his face was always masked). I also made a great contact with someone who works for Lucasfilms, LTD.
Tom, if you're reading this, Lucasfilms is hiring right now!
The bad news is, I have to put the story together, but the good news is I get to use my imagination, and create the story, taking time to do it, rather than turn and burn.

I move into my new place permanently today, so I will be out of phone contact, and email contact escept for my work address. I will let you know when I'm back online and can take calls.

Moving

I'm finally moving out of the small hole-in-the-wall quarters the Army gave me upon arrival into Korea. I'm moving into Air Force quality housing. What that means, is I'm going from a split room (two 9x5 rooms joined together - 9x10 in all) into a 14x14 room, complete with attached walk-in closet. Another benefit, is I will only have to share the area with one suitemate, rather than seven other housemates. Sorry, but 2 showers, and three toilets for 8 guys is not my idea of healthy. Now, I have my own room, and my suite mate will have his own room. We will only share a bathroom (complete with bathtub!) and a kitchenette area. pluss, the doors reach the floor, so no heat/air conditioning escapes, and no critters can walk in uninvited. It's further away from everything than my old place, but the amenities make up for the inconvenience.
What does this mean to you? I will be without a computer or phone for a few days, while I get disconected, and reconected. Don't worry, I check the blogger often, so I'll see your comments from work. I can also check my work email if you want to send me a note.

Vanessa and I have been together for two years officially, as of Dec. 1st! It still feels like no time has passed since we first spoke our Love for each other. Granted, being on the other side of the planet makes the days seem long, but the weeks fly by, and soon I'll be with her again! ULI

I just found out (as I was writing the above) that I am indeed slotted to go to Germany. It's up to the Air Force to place me, but I am DEFINATELY going to Germany next. Yippie! Thanks for all the prayers to get, and keep, Vanessa and me together. 147 days left!!!

This is my last week in Radio for the rest of the year. Next week, I start alternating anchoring the newscast with my big boss for the holiday schedule. I will get one day on, and one day off for the next two weeks. I don't get to be in radio anymore, but, I do get some time off.
