I'm sorry it's been so long since I updated, nd I know some of you had no idea what happened, or if I was even okay, so here's my attempt to explain my absence.
Well, as most of you know, it's pretty hot where I am, and indoors, it gets hotter sometimes than it does outside. And apparently, if you leave your computer plugged in, the AC plug that connects from the wall socket to your computer can overheat. That's exactly what happened to my computer, and the power cord broke- right in the middle of my birthday blog. Talk abot timing!!! So I ordered a new part, and it came in the mail today. Yippie! I'm back, and blogging.

Things have changed a little since my last posting. I'm still doing the same job, but now I'm the morning show host, and the sole radio DJ for our station. We had to cut back on radio manning, to give our news team more bodies. So that means, I work from 6:30am to 2:30pm, 5 hours of that is live radio, and the other three are spent preparing for the next day.
Right now, I'm doing okay with it. I mean, I adore doing radio, so they could tell me to do 12 hours, and I wouldn't put up muchof a fight. I'm even starting to get in touch with people and companies to try and get some free stuff to give away on the air. I figure the service members here have a limited PX (that's the main store around here), so offering up stuff like computer accessories, gadgets, and other free stuff, can only raise morale, and help our station get and keep more listeners. Consequently, if you know of anyplace that gives away free stuff (especially to military), please let me know, or have them send me some stuff I can give away. I'm looking into companies like Sony, Apple, and JVC, but anything will do.

Getting to talk to Vanessa is a great treat during my day. She calls me just about every morning, and it makes the day that much sweeter. I can only receve calls from government phones, so she goes in to work a little early, just to talk for a little while before her day starts. I'm so blessed to have her in my life. And now that my computer is back up, I get the chance to talk to her online (as well as many other friends that I have missed talking to) just about every evening. It does help me stay grounded, and keeps my spirits up.

Speaking of Vanessa, her spirits are high as well, because she got some good news about her medical separation. Turns out, she may be a civilian as early as October. Here's hoping. I know your prayers helped with htat, and for them, I thank all of you (even if you didn't pray for it, you still might have secretly hoped it would happen).

I still haven't gotten the hang of a set schedule yet, so sometimes I go to bed around 3am, andothers, I hop into the sack right after work for a nap. I did that yestersay, and slept from 4pm to 5am. Maybeit had somehting to do with not sleeping at all Sunday. Still, it felt refreshing, and even at the late hour I'm awake now, I feel wide awake. I think I really do have some sort of insomnia, but then, I've been this way for a long time, and never thought about it. Maybe I'm just nocturnal, as I DO tend to get tired inthe day time, but as soon as the sun drops toward the horizon, no matter how tired I was, I suddenly get aburst of energy, and end up staying awake all night again.

I've been taking photos while my computer was out. I will continue to post them as I can. Today's is of some B-Huts (houses) and the mountains behind them in the distance. The base I'm at sits in a valley, surrounded by peaks. This is from the view just outside my office - notice the barbed, and razor wire coils.

And that does it for this evening. It's good to be back. I hope things stay this way.
