Army Vs. Air Force

Vanessa is frustrated with the Army and the Air Force. See, we're trying very hard to get stationed at the same base after I leave Korea, but neither of our services seem to be very helpful. Today she tried calling her reenlistment office to find out if by reenlisting, she can get base preference, but since she's been in for more than 5 years, she has been dubbed a "career soldier" and won't get that option. The best the Army can do, is offer her "someplace in Europe" but that doesn't guarantee that she'll get to someplace I can go. Actually, they're telling her she's probably going to end up in the US at either Ft. Hood, GA, or Ft. Bragg, SC. That means we won't be able to land the same base for three years.
So...she tried calling up an Air Force recruiter to see if switching services might help her move to the same places as me. An Air Force RECRUITER - someone whose JOB it is to get people INTO the Air Force - told her that the Air Force was no longer accepting "prior service" applicants. That means if you've served your country, Uncle Sam says, thanks, and piss off. I doubt that. I'll try calling him in the morning.

She's just very upset about the whole day because of it. I've put my faith in God, that his plan will take course. I hope and pray it's to keep us together, so I'm a little more confident that the right thing will happen for us, and she'll someday look back on this and breathe a sigh of relief.
